Having missed the 2006 one, settling to watch it on RTE 2 instead. Highlights of 2005 for me, Toots and the Maytals (although a synth replaced the Brass section), LCD Soundsystem, Kraftwerk, Goldfrapp, Nick Cave, Royscopp(is that spelt right), Fat boy slim, Too Many DJs, Tommy Teirnan, Yesmen(cinema), silent disco, pear cider, good good green, and quite a few other acts and things. Kraftwerk is the legend of vintage electronic music, so world music is not just rock, anyway, Kraftwerk music is a must one in classic modern music...for the band members: you're simply GREAT!!!!!
I think "Trans Europe Express" and "The Man Machine" are unique pieces of wonderful art and musical expressions...two big classics. |

Tenho 43 anos e no inicio da década de 80 possuia uma discoteca, basicamente só curtiamos old-school. Na época a rádio caétes aqui de Recife transmitia um programa nos sábados a tarde chamado Pop Music. Eram 3 horas de muito black music. Num sábado o Dj anunciou para o próximo sábado um especial só com música produzida por computador. Na sequencia deu uma palinha do que iria rolar. Foi algo totalmente inusitado aos meus ouvidos. A montagem que de uma hora tocou músicas dos albúns: Autobahn, Trans-Europe Express, The Machine e Computer Wold. Comprei uma fita de 90 minutos de metal/chomo e gravei na íntegra. Nunca por aqui em Recife ninguém havia escutado nada parecido. A noite levei para a Disco Mix (nossa discoteca) e para minha surpresa, na medida que tocava as musicas, alternando-se as músicas com sons psicodélicos e as extremamentes dancantes, o público ou parava sem sair do salão ou dançavam o black ao som de Kraftwerk.Essa noite foi memórável em minha vida. A partir dai busquei informações a respeito do grupo, tarefa naquela época sem internet algo muito difício. Um ano após de lançarmos na Disco Mix, Kraftwerk, surgiu Afrika Bambaataa com Planet Rock detonando com a base de Trans-Europe Express. |
